Context
Ukrainian biomass market is growing by 30-35% annually. Spike in the gas prices in Ukraine in 2014 has lead to massive switch to alternative sources of energy, primarily to solid biomass. There is constant demand for biomass products from operators of heating stations, public utilities, corporate sector and private households. Available biofuel vary significantly and there is no culture of long-term supply contracting. Local producers would benefit from the capacity building in biomass logistics and trading. Foreign know-how and capital could significantly benefit Ukrainian clients, partners and the market overall.
Green Economy Days aims to bring market players from Ukraine and EU in contact to activate market development.
